Ter ere van de 50ste verjaardag van het debuutalbum van Grateful Dead lanceert de band een speciale album reissue series, beginnend met hun eerste album. Deze 50th anniversary editie bevat het compleet remasterde album op gelimiteerd picture disc vinyl.
De band nam hun debuutalbum op in 5 dagen tijd, en pakt perfect de vroege sound van de band , met nummers als Sitting On Top of the World, de chicago blue song Good Morning Little School Girl, het improviserende Viola Lee Blues , en het Dylan achtige Cream Puff War.
