180-gram LP
Mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio from the original master tape
Plated and pressed at RTI
The Blue Note Tone Poet Series was born out of Blue Note President Don Was' admiration for the exceptional audiophile Blue Note LP reissues presented by Music Matters. Was brought Joe Harley (from Music Matters), a.k.a. the "Tone Poet," on board to curate and supervise a series of reissues from the Blue Note family of labels.
Recorded in 1958, Minor Move was Tina Brooks' very first recording, although it wasn't released until 1980, six years after his tragic death at the age of 42. In fact, Brooks' 1960 classic True Blue was the saxophonist's only album released during his all-too-short lifetime. Once all four of Brooks' Blue Note albums were released his status as one of the most innovative tenor saxophone stylists in jazz has become clear. Features all-analog, from-the-original-tape mastering, in a deluxe gatefold cover.
